DONATE AND HELP OUT!

AN OPEN LETTER TO DARTMOUTH DOG PARK USERS

The Dartmouth Dog Advisory Work Group, (DDAWG) is a 501-c-3 small, non-profit, all volunteer group.

The Town of Dartmouth has generously allowed us to use a quarter acre space as a temporary dog park in the Dartmouth Regional Parks and Trails Recreational Facility at 443 Old Fall River Rd, while independent funding is sought by them through grant money for the permanent dog park. We are very fortunate that in this Dartmouth park facility, which features playing fields, a pavilion with barbeque pits, hiking trails, a large children’s playground, bathrooms, various playing courts, and a handicapped accessible picnic area, that we now have a regional, no-fee doggie “playground”! NO MONEY for this temporary dog park OR the permanent dog park project is coming from Dartmouth tax payer dollars OR the town budget.

DDAWG is working closely under the direction of the Dartmouth Parks and Recreation Department as a group of volunteers to daily monitor, maintain, and make improvements to this existing temporary dog park that we all use and enjoy! We have a goal in the near future to make improvements to this park for the safety and enjoyment of park users and their dogs. Installing benches, an informational kiosk, and providing a continual supply of pet waste bags, along with repairs to the fence and grounds requires funding. DDAWG is responsible for raising the funds necessary to keep the park open and operational.

We currently have over 2,000 members on our Facebook pages. Every donation, no matter how small, demonstrates your support for the park and your love for our four-legged family members. Won’t you please help out by donating to help DDAWG continue to provide a safe and happy place for dogs and their handlers to enjoy?

Thank you in advance for your donation. See you at the park!
